Watooka 2009 Videos

I think John has finished uploading all his videos from the Grimshaw 2009 visit to Watooka, Guyana. I have added some of Pauline’s photos to the first two in the list, while the last bunch appear to be straight out of the camera.

They are all in HD, so click the full screen button for viewing.

Every few days Pauline has been updating her Flickr page.

The intrepid John and Pauline Grimshaw did a little poking around during their recent trip to Guyana. With the assistance of A. Mazaharally & Sons they visited the old wreck of the R.H. Carr, reputed to be located at Skull Point, now confirmed.

John says “I think Skull Point is on the Cuyuni, just upstream from its confluence with the Mazaruni”.

The video is in HD, if you click the full screen button you should get the full effect.

I’ve patched together John’s video with some of Pauline’s still photos just so it would last the duration of Dave Odegaards tune – Remember.

The original short clip is still here…

The R.H. Carr page has been suitably updated with the news.

A little bird told me that this story is not fully played out. Stay tuned for more tales from the Grimshaws.

The R.H. Carr page has been updated.

John has secretly given us an update from his 1994 photo collection taken on his family visit to Guyana. He has some iconic imagery there. This one of the Watooka Day School, shown below, is my favorite.

Just found a great collection of photo’s showing Modern MacKenzie/Linden. Click photo to go to the collection from GuyMine on Facebook. Now, if only they would give us full screen images.

The boys were making a video documentary, now lets see if anyone can find it.

The Life of Bauxite

I’ve put together a photo essay of the life of Bauxite, click photo to jump to the page.

The Plant

Check out the High Resolution version, lots of detail. Best photo yet of the plant. Where is all the dust? Can’t be operating at much capacity.

Off to Watooka Day School

That sure doesn’t look the way I remember and it’s not that my memory is failing.
