One of my mother&#039;s sisters, Marcelle, became private secretary to the office of the Governors-General in Port of Spain. She got to meet all the royals and other dignitaries who visited and had many stories to tell. She even had a silk scarf that Indira Ghandi gave her. Eventually she was given an award from the Palace. I do believe she even carried on a correspondence with Princess Alice, though I have no idea what happened to those letters. Pity. Marcelle was sorely missed when she passed away in Montreal quite a few years ago.</description>
